Step into the day of....
A private sector Chartered Town Planner.
As a mum, my day often starts before the school run as I like to be ahead of the game.
No two days are alike and can include:
- Reviewing technical reports such as Transport Statements, Energy and Sustainability Statement and Noise Impact Assessments;
- Calls and emails liaising with Local Authority Planning Officers in relation to comments that may have been received on applications and finding solutions;
- Updates with clients and consultants;
- Site reviews for clients to identify opportunities;
- Networking events with other industry professionals;
- Site visits to identify planning gain opportunities for clients;
- Keeping up to date with legislation and case law;
- Meetings to discuss new client projects;
- Watch out.... I’m penning my book too!
My day ends with admin / timesheet and accounts.
For me mornings are often for deep work when I’m ‘in-flow.’ I research and craft the planning case for my current client’s projects.
What is your productivity rhythm?
P.S. My son’s CGI of me! Funko Mum! Planning legislation always in hand 😊
