Who is creating Conservation Areas of the future?

I spend a lot of my working life acting on projects in the Conservation Area, preserving and regenerating listed buildings or seeking to limit harm to buildings of heritage. All this is admirable and I am incredibly lucky to work with some astounding architects and architectural designers.

It would though, be good to see a policy shift to allow more freedom to architects to do what they are good at and just design!

In most instances the Conservation Areas we have today were not constrained by policy and in my view were allowed to evolve and we treasure these today as such.
